Ida Hegazi Høyer

Ida Hegazi Høyer (b. 1981) is a Norwegian writer with Danish and Egyptian roots. She studied sociology in Oslo and currently lives in a wooded area just outside the city. In 2012 Høyer debuted with Under verden. Her novel Ut (2013) earned her the Bjørnsonstipend, a Norwegian literary prize for young prominent talents, and for Unnskyld she was awarded the 2015 European Union Prize for Literature. Her latest work, Fortellingen om øde, is about mankind’s insignificance in relation to nature. In March 2016 she will be writer in residence at Passa Porta in Brussels.
