As a non-Belgian author, do you also work with other media? Do you have experience with literary programming or do you have expertise that falls outside the classic literary scope? Then apply for this unique residency.

What does it involve?

Starting in the autumn of 2020, Passa Porta will welcome 4 foreign author-curators every year for a residency in the heart of Brussels. We provide an inspiring and safe environment so that they can experiment freely around their project. As author-curator in residence, you will stay in a spacious apartment for a minimum of four and a maximum of eight weeks, receive a weekly remuneration and have access to a computer, Internet connection and printer.

In addition, Passa Porta will work closely with you on developing your own public presentation, involve you in Belgian cultural life and actively seek out interesting networks to develop your project and provide it with a platform.

We ask you to leave behind a literary trace in the form of a creative text about your stay in Brussels, to actively participate in projects that are part of our programme, and to be open to meeting your audience in Belgium. These services will be correctly remunerated.

The application for a residency as author-curator is to be made after an open call. The call for residencies in 2021 is being issued in July 2020. The deadline for applications is 15 September.
The selection of the four author-curators is made by a partly external jury.
