As the international house of literature, we are here to stimulate the creation of literature. That is why, ever since Passa Porta was founded in 2004, we have been organizing residencies for authors and translators from Belgium and abroad.

Material support
As a foreign writer-in-residency at Passa Porta you have at your disposal, for a minimum of four and a maximum of eight weeks, a comfortable and quiet apartment on rue Antoine Dansaert / Dansaertstraat, in the centre of Brussel.
For Belgian authors we also provide carefully selected writing places in their own country. Together with international partners we also organize residencies for Flemish authors abroad.
Content-related support
Besides the tangible support, there are also many intangible advantages. You come in contact with the many partners of Passa Porta (publishers, translators, bookshops, programmers, etc.), you develop a new audience with which you can engage in dialogue via meetings and possible writing assignments.

Are you a writer and are you looking for a quiet and comfortable workspace where you can isolate yourself completely from the outside world? Then you are quite literally at the right address at Passa Porta. We put one workspace in the heart of Brussels at the disposal of authors: Passa Porta Studio.
