With the Belgian version of the Dead Ladies Show, author Gaea Schoeters and Passa Porta are producing a series of jolly cafés chantants about remarkable women from the past who deserve our continuing admiration. The Dead Ladies Showscan be seen in Brussels and on tour across Flanders.
Passa Porta feels very strongly about freedom of speech and supports writers in danger. That is why our house is part of ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network). The cities and organizations in the network welcome and support writers who are at risk in their homeland.
Passa Porta is part of the European project CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists). Together with partners from Spain, Portugal, Romania, the Netherlands and Italy, our house supports promising young literary talent.
Every year the Académie Goncourt presents the Choix Goncourt de la Belgique. The Académie makes an initial selection. A jury composed of students from no fewer than ten Belgian universities then selects the winning title. Passa Porta lends its support for the selection of the laureate.
Never before have visual artists from Belgium and poets from abroad worked together — until now. Curious to find out what this creative cross-pollination will lead to? Then set out on a poetic stroll through Brussels with Passa Porta.
