‘The best hope that a writer could have is to say something he or she is not capable of saying. On February 5th the American author Jesse Ball interrupted his work on a new book at the writing residency in Amsterdam for a thoughtful conversation with Ruth Joos at Passa Porta on the occasion of the translation of his novel The Divers’ Game by Jan Willem Reitsma (Querido).
