A house of literature walks into a café …
No, it’s not a joke. The house of literature Passa Porta is going to the café to listen to you. These past months we have been longing, just like you, to meet up for drinks and a chat, to listen to friends we haven’t seen in ages and strangers who happen to cross our path at the right time.
For the Brussels City of Stories project, we want to hear your café stories. That is why we are sending the story collectors Yelena Schmitz, Arno Boey, Milady Renoir, Oscar Briou and Christine Aventin to terraces in Brussels on Saturday 5 June. Tell them your best café story or the strangest, tell them about cafés that have disappeared, or the gatherings that once took place there. During the time it takes to drink a coffee, they will listen to you and write down your story.
On Sunday 11 July, the last day of this edition of Brussels City of Stories, you may hear your own story read aloud in your favourite café, or elsewhere.
Our story collectors will be present on Saturday 5 June on the terraces of De Monk, Le Millefeuille, New Plasky, Flamingo and Muntpunt Grand Café.
You can book your time at the café via this form. You have until 2 June to register.
