Treize, a stage name, is a French rapper and slammer. She takes her lyrics orally, from open slam scenes to rap open mics, and loves it when the word gets around.
She spent nearly ten years in psychiatric care, hospitalised long and often. Over the last few years, she has cut all ties with that world, both in terms of her treatment and her ties to it I n her first book, Charge (2023), a collection of short stories and poems, the slam artist, who describes herself as ‘mentally handicapped’, also analyses her long stays in psychiatry, like a hand extended to her sick friends.
