Stichting Feest der Poëzie brings poetry and spirits together in their itinerant Poetry Bar. Discover various wonderful absinthes, prepared the old-fashioned way with authentic ingredients by our absinthe makers/reciters.
It takes the same time to prepare an absinthe as it does to recite a sonnet. While the absinthe is being made, the mixologist will recite from the works of a famous exiled or persecuted poet from the nineteenth or twentieth century. Don't feel like an absinthe? There will be plenty of alternatives.
Reciter and absinthe maker Simon Mulder will recite from Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Verlaine and the Comte de Lautréamont. A mix of frivolity, extravagance and disgust.
While she prepares the perfect absinthe, the poet Sarah De Grauwe will recite sombre romantic poems – the unattainable femme fatale, ennui, spirits and the pleasures of the flesh.
Together they form part of the Dutch Stichting Feest der Poëzie. They organize performances with recitations and music at unique venues. Their focus is on fixed-verse poetry, classical recitation, craft book printing and literary history.
