Daphné B. is a poet and translator from Quebec.
Born in Montreal in 1990, poet and translator Daphné B. is an important figure in contemporary Quebec literature. Her work is included in the Anthologie de la poésie actuelle des femmes au Québec, 2000-2020 (Les éditions du Remue-ménage, 2020) and her poetry collections Bluetiful (Les Éditions de l'Écrou, 2015) and Delete (Oie de Cravan, 2017) both received rave reviews. In 2021, her book Maquillée. Essai sur le monde et ses fards (Grasset), an examination of the make-up industry, a feminist essay on one of the symbols of what it means to be 'a woman' and a philosophical reflection on beauty, being and appearance.
During her residency at Passa Porta, she is working on her next project, a poetic remake of an encyclopaedia, from the entries 'abeille' to 'argent'.
