For #BrusselsBookCity, we asked several actors of the Brussels book sector to share with us some of their favourite books and to fill us in on their favourite spots to read in the capital of Europe.

It is under the gaze of the talented video director and photographer Alice Khol that they open up on film.

This week we meet Sue Botterell, a bookseller at Waterstones.

One of the favourite bookshops of the international community in Brussels opened its doors in the 1920s under the name W.H. Smith. In the 1940s the shop was taken over by the Germans before it became an officers’ mess when the Allies liberated the city. In 1997 it became part of Waterstones. Today the shop specializes in English books and magazines, but also sells gifts, stationery and British food.
