Literature thrives on the fresh breath of new voices. At this year’s Passa Porta Festival, we put the spotlight on six remarkable newcomers who have made waves with their debut works. Before taking the stage, they were warmly encouraged by seasoned author P.F. Thomése, who— in a speech written especially for the occasion—looked back on his own first steps as a writer and shared how he built and sustained a 35-year literary career.
Our debut stars were Sophia Blyden, Julie Cafmeyer, Sabrine Ingabire, Lucky Fonz III, Bob Vanden Broeck, and Yael van der Wouden. Guiding the evening was host Melissa Giardina. And because no ball is complete without a dance floor, we closed the night in style with a DJ set by Lucky Fonz III.
