Poetik Bazar is more than the first bilingual poetry market in the country; it is also the ideal setting for an international poetry programme. Versopolis and Passa Porta invite ten exceptional poets, all of them top talents in their native countries.
chapbooks
In this international poetry programme, you can discover nine exceptional poets. Four of them will be performing their verses from different corners of Europe: Maja Lee Langvad (Denmark), Volha Hapeyeva (Belarus), Tibor Babiczky (Hungary), and Gaia Ginevra Giorgi (Italy). A selection of their work has been compiled in a trilingual chapbook that we will present to you this evening
live
Six poets will be appearing live in Brussels: Samantha Barendson (France), Asha Karami (Netherlands), Miriam Van hee (Belgium), Yves Namur (Belgium), Lisette Ma Neza (Belgium) and Carmien Michels tbc (Belgium). Actor, rapper, and writer Rashif El Kaoui is our host for the evening.
The poems will be read in the original language and translated into Dutch, French, and English.
Poetik Bazar
This bilingual poetry event will receive (for the first time in Brussels) publishers, poetry magazines, and Belgian poets – both French and Dutch speaking – at the heart of the city, in BE-HERE, behind Tour & Taxis.
The evening is part of the Versopolis project, a European platform for poetry organizations, with the support of the European Union's Creative Europe Programme.
Partners: Passa Porta, Poetik Bazar and Poëziecentrum.

Claire-Louise Bennett in conversation with Ruth Joos
Ruth Joos talks to British sensation Claire-Louise Bennett. This promises to be a crackling conversation about the need for imagination and the power of literature between a wilful writer and an eager reader. Houses, in so far as they are still sacred, will be reduced to rubble, and your list of books to read will be added to with care.
