2021 - Tania Haberland
Tania Haberland alternates as a freelance teacher, writer, translator, performer and consultant. Haberland’s versatility as a professional and as an artist have led to her involvement in a numerous array of projects, ranging from curatorial and artistic residencies in Europe, to shelters across the United Kingdom and South Africa where she worked providing care and education for people with disabilities, abused women and refugees.
Haberland’s work as a writer has centred mostly around poetry, leading to the publication of her first book of poems, Hyphen, in 2009, and her first bilingual collection Water Flame / Fiamma d’acqua in 2019. Haberland draws her inspiration from the relationship and exchanges between body, movement, and the mind. Haberland's artistic socio-cultural project, The Technology of Tenderness, will be further developed during her residency at Passa Porta. This work explores alternative ways of ‘touching’ people as a response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Technology of tenderness: for a poetic shelter
A multilingual sound collage and video poem. Come and listen to murmurations to rekindle humankind kindness, body and water movements that whisper, a river of voices that pulsates to the rhythm of the city, and roads that interweave stories, shaping a refuge for hearts and minds.
