Alara Adilow (b. 1988) is a Dutch poet of Somali descent.
With her poetry collection Mythen en stoplichten ("Myths and Traffic Lights", 2022), Alara Adilow wrote one of the most striking debuts of recent years. "A fearless debut," said the jury that awarded her collection about her transformation from man to woman with the 2023 Flemish Herman de Coninck Prize. The collection was also awarded the C. Buddingh' Prize for the best Dutch-language poetry debut.
She was a guest at the Passa Porta Festival 2023 and is working on a first novel during her residency in Brussels.
