Passa Porta has its source in two non-profit organizations, a Dutch- and a French-speaking one. As a result, the house of literature is involved in both the Dutch- and French-speaking sides of the Brussels Arts Network (Brussels Kunstenoverleg/Réseau des Arts à Bruxelles), the platform where Brussels cultural players engage in dialogue with one another.

Passa Porta has its eyes on the future. As a house of literature we are happy to give young literary talent a push, whether writers, translators or publishers.That is why Passa Porta is part of CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists). CELA provides young Europeans with instruments to be better equipped as writers, publishers or literary marketeers in an environment and for a public that are continually changing.

Passa Porta sits on the ‘Nederlandstalige Cultuurraad’ (culture council) of the City of Brussels. The ‘Cultuurraad’ serves as the consultative committee for Brussels and as a communication channel between the City of Brussels and the cultural organizations that use Dutch as their official language.

The Flemish Literature Fund created BoekenOverleg as a platform for consultation within the book sector. Passa Porta too participates in BoekenOverleg. Within this organ we work with other partners on a comprehensive long-term policy on the basis of communal objectives of literary actors in Flanders.

The cities and organizations in ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network) welcome and support writers who are at risk in their homeland. Passa Porta represents Brussels in the network. For a period of always two years, we welcome a writer who, because of his or her writings, is threatened in their homeland. Passa Porta puts an apartment at the disposal of the author in question and provides him or her with material, psychological and artistic support.

Literary Europe Live brings together literary festivals and venues across Europe to encourage programming that reflects the richness and diversity of the European literary landscape, to showcase the work of young emerging talent and to develop a digital and "live" literary audience across national and linguistic borders. Literary Europe Live is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

Passa Porta is one of about 30 organizations from France, Belgium and Canada that together form RELIEF. The network stimulates the creation of contemporary literature and literary translations.

United Stages is an initiative of Brussels-based cultural institutions. Through this label they indicate that they side with the rights of all and an open migration policy, and that they support values such as diversity, solidarity and respect for the other. The cultural institutions bearing the United Stages label raise funds for humanitarian organizations in Belgium or elsewhere that devote themselves to citizens affected by violence in conflict zones. Passa Porta too is a member of this label.

Passa Porta Festival is part of the Global Association of Literary Festivals which connects literary festivals around the world in a spirit of cooperation, exchanging ideas and resources. Literary festivals share best practice, discuss challenges, adopt new ideas and explore partnerships. Through the power of literature, the Global Association of Literary Festivals promotes an appreciation of different cultures, facilitates understanding and builds bridges across countries and communities.
