Brussels City of Traces: Storytelling Festival
We leave our traces in the city. Brussels knows our habits. Together with authors Tijl Nuyts and Cécile Hupin, we collected stories and would love to share them with you. Join us in celebrating the power of stories at our Storytelling Festival!

Brussels City of Traces focuses on the traces left behind by the people of Brussels. Every morning and every evening, footsteps, habits, and routes draw a pattern of lives along the streets, squares, and crosswalks of Brussels. A pattern of lives different from our own. “What was your first habit in Brussels?” is the main question during several multilingual artistic workshops, organized by our partners in 2025.
Our stories were collected through writing, textile, and visual arts workshops, an open call, or simply during class. Authors Cécile Hupin and Tijl Nuyts listened in and created 10 beautiful stories that form a soundwalk through the city.
Discover the results of the art workshops. Listen to a segment of the soundwalk. Share your own journey through the city during the open mic. Join us in celebrating the power of stories at our Storytelling Festival!

Experiment with artist Alejandra Bedón and discover the magic of watercolor monotype. Beginning from a unique watercolor background, layers and textures reveal unexpected shapes and images. These spontaneous forms become the starting point for a personal visual story that captures each trace. A beautiful moment of creation and discovery. In collaboration with Centrale for contemporary art.
In collaboration with CENTRALE for contemporary art, De Markten, Brusselleer, Avansa-Citizenne, and Brussels Ouderenplatform.
With the support of COCOF, FWB, the Flemish Government, and VGC.
